  Foss has again created a world that drags its readers in and keeps them captive - An engaging first in a series that should not be missed!
  "There was a spark in her near-bony eyes that the others lacked. I'd use that to my advantage. Craft and mold her into the perfect poison" - Darius with regards to Juliet
  Juliet -
  Raised from birth to be the quintessential blood slave - Nothing more than a vessel with a pulse to provide sustenance and pleasure for the superior race. I enjoyed watching Juliet slowly emerge. Her character is such a force to be reckoned with.
  Darius-
  Juliet's master and a very old vampire. He has plans and he will sacrifice whatever and whoever is necessary to ensure that they come to fruition. Sometimes the cost is high.
  Darius had me on the fence in the beginning. He can be so cruel at times then a moment later you can see the light that edges his darkness breaking through. (MINE)
  
  Chastely Bitten introduces us to an intense mix of characters and personalities - from the darkest of the Vampires to the kindest of Lycans and vice versa - a wonderful cast that follows you beyond the pages -I am all kinds of curious about Lilith and the Lycans and Darius' maker and the Royals - love the Royals (keep an eye on them as you read 😉)
  
  When we first meet Juliet she is portrayed as meek and subservient (A lifetime of fear and manipulation can do that) but we see glimpses of the fire that smolders right below the surface. Darius has purchased her, but not with the intent of a blood slave (okay fine- not completely with that intent) He has every intention of kindling that spark he glimpses until it shines so bright it burns. She will be his perfect accompaniment - She will be the edge he needs to change the Alliance -or she will be smothered until there is nothing left of her fire.
  Let the games begin!
• Holy hotness, y'all. I don't know how this book doesn't have thousands of reviews yet. It's seriously smokin'. I love the complicated dynamic between Darius and Juliet. Also, admittedly, I'm a sucker for an a$$hole hero. I was frustrated with Darius at the beginning, but liked him more and more as the book progressed. I also wanted to slap Juliet a couple of times, but that was my own sense of feminism (humanism?) coming out. This is a pretend world where humans are nothing more than chattel. Of course she would be conditioned to be a docile little morsel. Once I got over myself (it took, like, 20 seconds max), I really got into it and was pleased when Juliet started to break out of her mental prison. Oh, and all the sexy times with Darius, even with a possible audience? Seriously business, peeps. I dug it. The book has a dark edge to it, but it retains the eternal hope of a happy ending for all the "good" characters. Sorry, not going to spoil anything. If you like dark and sexy, this is a great choice.

  Trained and brain washed to be sexually submissive, Juliet knows nothing else. Ignorant even of human ways and freedoms before the ascension of vampire and lycan clans.
  
  She is bought at auction as a virgin blood slave. Her new sire is not what she was expecting and plays by his own set of rules.
  
  Darius is a powerful vampire playing a game he intends to win.
  
  Will Juliet simply be his pawn or will she become his Queen?
  
  I was riveted right from the beginning. The carnality and the need in this book is palpable.
  
  From the very beginning, the story had me on the edge of my seat and kept me there until the very end.
  
  Juliet’s reactions seemed real based on the conditioning she went through. I enjoyed the natural and gradual way her character began to change although sometimes her submissive nature grated.
  
  Sexy, demanding and possessive Darius is definitely secretive. He had me guessing at his motives throughout the entire book. Is he good? Bad? Why does he do what he does?
  
  I must say, though, that I wanted more from these characters. When I reached the end of this book, it felt like it was only the beginning of their story and I was a little disappointed that their story is not continued in the next book.
  
  Be assured, however, that I will without a doubt be continuing this engrossing and captivating series.
  
  This is a book not to be missed by dark, paranormal romance lovers.
• Chastely Bitten is a fascinating look at what the world may have looked like if Vampires and Lycans took over the world that humans were destroying with overpopulation and wars. This is a darkly sexual book where humans are now property to be bought and used for food and sex with no rights. Darius has an agenda, enter Juliet the trained slave to be purchased by Vampires. Her blood is considered rare and intoxicating to them, will she fit the agenda he hopes she will? Can she be re-trained for this? 


  
  This is book one in the new Blood Alliance series by Lexi C. Foss. In this, she took the tried and true and promptly threw it out the window. This is steamy, dark and an enjoyable read from start to finish. I can’t wait to see where this story goes with Darius and Juliet!
• I so hope you are ready to dive into an incredible world where vampires and Lucas are in charge while humans are pretty much cattle. Juilet has been raised to be the perfect slave in all ways making her perfect for Darius's secret hidden plan. The story is fascinating as the world unfolds filled with surprises as well as plenty of heat. Perfect for fans of the genre. I so cannot wait to dive back into this world with book two. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
